This project focused on breathing new life into an existing hotel—refreshing it to make it more current, inviting, and appealing to a new generation of guests, while honoring the original spirit of the place. The transformation was achieved through a comprehensive renovation centered on space redistribution, furniture reconditioning, the addition of vegetation, textiles, and a series of thoughtfully curated details that made all the difference.
Redistribution & General Renovation
We began with a complete spatial reorganization. An internal “garage sale” was held to clear out furniture and items no longer in use, allowing for a more intentional curation of the new aesthetic. We repainted walls, restored railings and surfaces, replaced flooring where needed—such as at the main reception entrance—and reorganized furniture by mixing existing pieces with new decorative elements.
Tropical Landscaping
We redesigned the entire hotel landscape, relocating existing plants and adding lush vegetation, especially around the newly created pool area. The entrance and garden were transformed into a true tropical oasis, offering guests a fresh, immersive welcome.
Handcrafted, Relaxed Guest Rooms
The rooms, functioning as small apartments, retained part of their original furniture. We introduced new curtains, natural textiles, and locally handcrafted fiber decor to create a warmer, more coastal vibe. Decorative cushions were added, existing elements rearranged, and a simple TV shelf was designed and installed in each room. In the bathrooms, we updated the shower enclosures, installed new under-sink cabinets, basins, organic-shaped mirrors, ambient lighting, and fiber baskets that bring both function and charm.
Rooftop Terrace
This floor houses a shared kitchen, a large lounge, and a bathroom. We completely redesigned the bathroom—expanding it into what was once a linen room, rearranging the layout, adding a shower, a new basin with mirror, and replacing the access door. On the terrace, we swapped out an old garden table for a custom-upholstered wooden daybed, creating a chill-out corner surrounded by plants. We also refreshed all cushion covers in the lounge, installed ceiling fans, and added a pendant lamp set that elevated the space’s overall mood.
Pool Area Transformation
The most dramatic change happened in the area that previously housed a covered gym. Aimed at attracting leisure travelers, we designed an organically shaped pool area surrounded by lush greenery, featuring a built-in concrete sofa with weather-resistant upholstery and a color palette consistent with the rest of the project. A pergola with hammocks and loungers was added, creating a laid-back, inviting space entirely different from what existed before.
Styling & Lighting
Lastly, we handled the hotel’s overall styling, carefully selecting each decorative object and determining its placement. We also curated the lighting design and final finishes, ensuring visual harmony throughout every corner of the property.
